3/31/10 08:48 pm - KITTIE KATS KICK KEEP'S KROTCH

Dunno if that title made sense. What it meant is that the kittens are doing fantastically. They have fought so hard and are getting so much better. Lilly (mum agreed) is so active and excitable (for half an hour and is then dormant on my chest). UnnamedKitty#002 isn't doing as well. The vet was really confident about this one yesterday, today he said to give it specialist treatment as she's now the weak one.

After school was great, the only brother home was Samuel so once he was calmed down, everything was incredibly quiet. I sprawled out on the sofa with my blanky (which I've donated to the kittens). They slept on my arm, the warmth of them soon made me fall asleep. Of all the family, I'm probably the best to fall asleep on as I give off most heat.

So I come bearing pictures of them asleep on my arm (prior to me drifting off).

A size comparison with a bog standard satsuma.

Lilly is the one on your right. UnnamedKitty#002 is the one on the left.

Mum is looking to name the other after a flower because they've both bloomed from nothing; like a flower.

Anyway, they're not out the woods yet so we can only hope. Click here to tweet a hope message.

Something else, please check out this song. It is beautiful.

3/30/10 10:02 pm - SRS BLOG!

Damn, sorry I haven't updated these past two days and just crap in general. I've had so much to do. Coursework is due in this Thursday. Thanks all flying fucks out there that I have completed most of it. Really, all that's left is to make some changes to PE during the holidays, finish my old Graffiti project in Art and make some minute changes to Geography. Then: Joni has finished all coursework to above a Pass standard :D

Well, coursework was pretty much finished on the weekend, I didn't update yesterday because my mum brought home a box 3 week old, abandoned kittens. They had been abandoned by their mother and their owners simply had no clue when it came to rearing them. They were in such an awful state: fleas, gammy eyes, dehydrated. We worked our best to keep all of them warm and clean and fed but our effort wasn't enough for one passed away in the night. However, it's sisters (they were confirmed to be girls today) still remain.

We've been back and forth with names. I really want to name them, as does everyone, because although it's only been a day, we've grown so close to the wee things. I had named two of the three yesterday, not naming the third because it was most ill and I figured I'd be more upset if it passed away. The names we have at the moment are Lilly and Lucy. Lilly is looking really weak at the moment. We took them to the vet this morning and he seemed pessimistic about Lilly's future, Lucy (originally named Conty because it looked like a boy) seems the healthiest and looks like he has the most chance of survival. But, if we keep on using the names and keep on growing closer, I'll be all the more upset if one dies. But then once again, when I woke up this morning to find the unnamed one was dead, I felt so guilty for not naming one. As if I had denied it an identity.

While it all sounds really stupid, I understand it does, these small things mean a lot to me.

School was pretty hard today. There was gossip at school conducted by a best friend, I told the victim of gossip and now my best friend is incredibly unhappy with me. I'm not saying sorry, I have no bias and stick up only for those who need it. Otherwise I'll TRY to stay out of it. So between tension in our social group and my mourning for UnnamedKitty#003, I was feeling a bit under the weather. But fortunately, I disguise these things well because I hate the idea of bringing down other people.

Alas, unfortunately that is life and all the bitching, growling and moaning won't bring any kittens back nor will it make any healthier.

More coverage as things happen.

So let's just hope they get better.

3/24/10 07:55 pm - [INSERT BLOG TITLE HERE]

I'm so tired I can't even conjure the creativity nor energy to make an awesome blog title.

Because I'm very tired (and about to fuck off to bed to watch Bleach and films) I will simply make a quick update.

I deleted the vlog off YouTube this afternoon as so many things went wrong, the out of sync-ness, the fact I said "My blog link'll be here" and pointed to an empty portion of the screen to find mere, non-partner peasants like myself can't hyperlink a third party in an annotation. So I will be attempting again but with less cuts.

Fyi, go out and buy (or download) David Byrne's concept album; 'Here Lies Love'. It's fab! Truly. The vast array of different vocalists brings in so many styles into the album. You're not guaranteed to like all of it, but you are guaranteed to like something on there. :)

Anyway, here is how I revise for History; STICKMEN :D Click them for a larger image and be granted the ability to read what's written (800 pixels in width is too small to read my scruffy handwriting).

3/23/10 08:02 pm - ACK BAD BLOGGER

I'm so sorry gais, I haven't updated for the last two days and to me the sheer notion of not updating a day makes me sick to my stomach.

So, Sunday was my birthday! It was super brilliantly fab! I got a flip cam off my parents, money from various people and a printer off my dad :D. He also wrote a poem which I appreciate loads. I think he feels awkward when we talk, unsure what to say. So, because I appreciate the effort he made, I'm going to ask to go round his house for the day. It'd be nice to get a coffee, see the new dog Floyd etc. Friends came over and while I was aware previously that my friends are great, I didn't realise how much they actually care.
I think major appreciation goes out to Alex. While this may sound oh so very materialistic and mercenary, he got me a really brilliant and thoughtful gift; a leather bound journal with a sticky note atop saying, "A journal so you can keep all your thoughts live" (what seemed like a reference to LiveJournal). That was so incredibly thoughtful and kind so thankyou.

And yesterday nothing much happened.

The reason I've been really bad at blogging is because I set aside a certain amount of time for journalism practice; blogging, filming and editing all fall under this 'umbrella'. Because that slot has been occupied with me getting accustomed to Cyber Link PowerDirector and my FlipCam, I've had little time for blogging. But, my first vlog is now done (with touches being made) and a second, off the cuff one is one it's way. I hope not to make vlogs in the future where I cut out my 'umms' and 'ahhs' because it discourages me not to hesitate if it's not going to be edited too much. Also cutting small bits out is mundane, time consuming and frustrating.

So anyway. I'll post the vlog tonight (or tomorrow) in a separate post, I love you guys lots. Here are some pictures I received from my Work Experience boss to apologise for my complacency and inability to update.

3/20/10 09:08 pm - CRAZY GAMER RAGE

Fucking hell, if you ever happen to be under the same roof as I when playing a video game, make sure I have regular breaks. Any longer than half an hour and I'm shaking with rage. Dear lord, Assassin's Creed is great at pissing me off. It does have it's funny moments though; Antonio was following me around and he kept falling off the walls so I was shouting abuse at him. "Antonio! Oi Antonio! YOU'RE FAT! Who ate all the pies 'ey?"
The bastard touched water and was dead in a flash resulting in an imminent desynchronization for Joni >:(

Here's a few of my tweets while playing the game:

:D

Anyway, 3 hours till my birthday. Parents are out at Chicago Rock till well after Half 1 this evening so imma be all; "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONI~~ C'MON EVERYBODY SING I---- oh wait... no-one's here to celebrate it... ):" Alas, I have depressing war films to watch :D

Check out this original song by KarysRhea and some bloke called Shaw. It's beautiful.

3/18/10 09:56 pm - BASIL IS A COVERT SHIT PERVERT

ZOMG! Weirdest thing happened to me!

So there I was, happy as larry having a shit. The radiator was on in the bathroom so I opened the window wide open. While shitting, Basil has snuck in through the window (using a tree branch as a path) and jumped down. I jumped three feet in the air. Got up, shuffled towards the bathroom door with my ass cheeks clenched and let him out.

Weirdest moment ever.

Anyway.

Hai guys :D

I've been really shit at updating this site, I've had so much going on it's been difficult to so much as breathe. Jokes aside, it's a struggle. But I'm a man, I get my act together, seldom stopping to bitch about it, and do the work. That's life. I've noticed a few people (yes Fisher, this was taken from ICT but you're not the lone example), have been complaining about time. For example; this Friday, period five, there is a mile walk for charity where one donates £1. As a result, we miss English (and for many classes, their work due Monday, this is problematic). Fisher was saying how it's unfair that one hour is being taken away. Yes, but unfortunately, that's how things work. I understood that he'd like time with the teacher so she can help with coursework but you can't change it. Just go see her at break. Missing valuable eating time? Oh dear, pity. Deal with it.
Life can be unfair sometimes. I speak from experience. I've had my coursework lost many times by teachers. Granted I may be a bit annoyed but I'll never kick up a fuss because bitching won't bring you back your work. Nor will it make the pressure away.
Certain individuals in our English class bitch about how it's so unfair that all the pressure of essays are being put on now because half of last year our teacher was in hospital so we did little work. How unfair it is that we have to work harder and faster. Yes, it is slightly annoying but it's ridiculous to simply give up. The only person missing out is you. And bitching about it is just losing precious time that could be used to get the work done.
I really don't want to come across as arrogant, I'm really laid back so that's how I see it; why kick up a fuss about something that won't change and will simply consume valuable time. I'm not saying my way is the right way to think, sometimes we need to vent our frustrations and I can relate to that also.
There's just a time and a place so please, for your sake and education's sake, bitch and moan and complain when you're in the safe zone. When all the coursework is done. Otherwise you're just putting pressure on yourself.

3/15/10 07:09 pm - SKINS >:D

Ahaaaa! Goddamn I'm excited. (Brittany Simon review for when I'm bored, I can't talk about immigrants when I'm this excited).

I'm sure that many of you will be aware of the UKTV show Skins. Well, the current series is drawing to a close as is the character's stories meaning that open auditions are being held for the new generation. And I'm going :D.

Unfortunately, I have no acting experience what-so-ever. I dropped Drama three years ago due to my lack of confidence. But, I'm now much more confident (I think partly due to this blog and being more true to myself). There will be thousands of people auditioning in London on April 16th and I intend to simply be myself.

I was told a couple of times I'd be good in Skins. Opinions?

I have coursework so that was just a quick update.

3/12/10 01:58 pm - RE: WE ARE THE YOUTH OF THE NATION

So for those that follow this blog, you're probably aware that a YouTuber and author contacted me; kindly sending me her book free of charge. Well the book arrived this morning and I've spent the last while reading it. I found it sensational, many points she covered I agree with completely (such as her stand on Emos), others made me think a lot about my life and my country, such as her coverage on sex and pornography.

It is a phenomenal book, short and sweet with many hard hitting points. More about Brittany Simon and how to purchase her book here.

So I will be reviewing each chapter in turn, a review a day, for the next week. The first chapter is about Brittany's family, her patriotic spirit  and also as an introduction to the rest of the book; while it was interesting to read, I can't add my opinions on to it.

The second chapter; 'Political Rampage: The War on Terror' is another patriotic chapter about the reasons for the war in Iraq. Unfortunately, my knowledge is limited on the war, all I hear is other people's opinions that 'we should pull troops up now!' And I am in complete agreeance with Brittany, the soldiers know what they're signing up for, they've not been tricked to do service so we can't blame government for keeping them out there. And the reasons for war? I don't know. My friends don't know. Some prominent figures in today's society don't know but I don't think we went there for oil. I, like Brittany, think we went there to destroy any threat of attack on our country.

After reading 'The Kite Runner' and 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Houssini, I have an understanding of the true horrors of the Taliban in Afghanistan. When we think of war we tend to think of our warriors out there risking their life; we have a tendency to disregard those who have no escape, the innocent citizens living in the country. The Taliban is not the only problem in the Middle East, citizens of Iraq are forever being hassled by Muslim extremists (as explained in Chapter 1 in Brittany's book). So while our country and America went there for our own reasons, to protect our own citizens; I think the troops sign up, continue touring Iraq and Afghanistan in a desp'rate attempt to protect the victims from the corrupt and dangerous government.

But surely we're almost finished in Iraq? Yes that's true hensewhy we have people protesting to bring the troops home but a brilliant analogy Brittany made follows;

"Imagine that you decide to clean one of the dressers in your room. 'That's it,' you tell yourself. You start cleaning behind your dresser and see that the mess trails to the dresser next to that and then under the bed. You aren't going to ignore the cobwebs, old food, and sour smell that's coming from those places, are you? You're going to clean it all up, even if your original goal was only to clean the first dresser."

That is what the situation is like, everyone wants the troops back but there is more 'mess to clean up'.

I will be talking about immigration and the benefits system tomorrow.

Please comment, while all of this makes more sense if you've read the book, you can still comment on the issues I talk about. I want a discussion, a debate. So get writing, simply click here.
